Modular Gazebo Kit Assembly

VI. Installation of Ridge Cap Shingles
ASSEMBLY NOTES:
The remainder of these procedures are considered the final assembly of your Gazebo. This section will cover the ridge cap assembly of which two shingles per ridge cap will require minor trimming. Located just below the adhesive strip, two nails per shingle will be necessary to secure shingles to ridge cap.

Step 1: Starting at the outermost edge of the roof, with two ¾” roofing nails, secure a shingle where the bottom center of the shingle is aligned with the edge of the roof panel shingles. image091.jpg - 5374 Bytes
Step 2: Preferably with a roofing blade, use a carpentry knife to carefully trim edges of the ridge cap shingle to match the edge of the roof panel’s shingles. image092.jpg - 6072 Bytes
Step 3: Except for trimming the shingle, repeat the installation of next shingles leading up to the cupola as with the 1st shingle.

Step4: At the cupola, the last ridge cap shingle will need to cut in half across the shingle at the point where the tapered cuts begin on the sides of the shingle. Ensure complete removal of adhesive strip and discard this half of the shingle.

Step 5: Again, with two 3/4”roofing nails, at the top corners, secure the last half of ridge cap shingle.

Step 6: Repeat the above steps with the roof ‘s remaining seven ridge caps.
