Will my dog chew it up?

 

We have challenged dog owners to try one to see if their dog will chew it up.  We have yet to hear from any of them in a negative way.  Mr. Telford, of Riverton, Utah, took a sample of aromatic cedar to his Boxer (that chews everything up).  A few days later he purchased a Cedar Comfort Insert and said, “My dog took the piece of cedar in his mouth, trotted off a short distance, spat it out and never touched it again.”

 

Will my dog’s hair get caught up in it?

 

There may be a very few breeds of dogs that have very fine, brittle hair which could snag.  However, if this is a concern, simply put a pad or something on top of the insert and still enjoy the benefits of the great aroma and anti-insect features of the Aromatic Cedar.

 

Will the red cedar discolor my dog?

                   

April Bruce, a kennel master and show dog owner, reported that the first time she washed her Cedar Comfort Insert, she allowed her Husky on the wet insert.  She discovered a discoloration on her dog that was only temporary.  Because of this, wed suggest that if you are concerned about discoloration, simply wash the Cedar Comfort Insert and allow it to dry thoroughly before using.  April reports that it only happened the one time…after the first washing.

 

Will the wood splinter?

                   

Cedar Comfort Inserts are carefully manufactured and planed down to reduce any splintering.                     Carefully inspect the insert before using and remove any lose wood by sanding lightly.  No further splintering should occur.

 

Will the cedar insert absorb urine?

 

Cory Nebeker, DVM, owner of Amor Animal Hospital, reported that he was surprised how the dogs could urinate on his Cedar Comfort Insert and not have any odor.  It was as if the aromatic cedar neutralized the odor that absorbed into the wood.  Liquids do not affect the wonderful qualities of the amazing Eastern Aromatic Cedar.

 

Will dogs’ toenails get caught in the insert?

 

Police K-9 officers have been using inserts for years and continue to purchase them at an increased rate.  No incident has ever been reported of toenail damage from the inserts.  However, excessively long toenails are a potential health hazard on any surface.
